Hi

Welcome to my blog. I'm an island girl living in the cheese state. A thrift queen & a fashion junkie.

Seventies

Seventies

Hello everyone! Happy hump day! I cannot believe it is already March, but hopefully, with it will come those warmer temperatures we want. The winter blues are really starting to get to me and I could not be more ready for spring to arrive!  Frankly, I am just tired of all the layers more so my puffy coat. I often wonder what it would be like to be 22 during the nineteen seventies.  I would probably be wearing a bold print mini dress and white go-go boots.  Every song that came on the radio would most likely be a hit when listening to Led Zeppelin, Bee Gees, Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, and Pink Floyd to name a handful.  Then I realize that I love this generation I was born in because we get to reconstruct these vintage fashions whether it is by styling a vintage piece or getting something brand new with vintage influence. Here is my seventies look with a modern twist.

This cotton romper will be perfect for the park or the beach once it is finally nice out!  The floral print is versatile with its baby blue and pink colors for spring or summer. The blazer gives a tailored finish that works well as a cover up for work, but the elbow patches are a small detail that adds lots without trying.  If you are just about five feet and two inches as I am then you know it can be hard to wear long dresses and a wide leg pant.  This is why I love Steve Madden.  These perforated tan suede platforms not only look great, they are also very comfortable.  Most importantly these shoes make me tall enough, keeping the pants from dragging.

I am loving these round sunnies from UO with purple lenses that give me purple vision, but they also ensure a seventies vibe reminiscent of the great John Lennon.  I cannot wait to stroll around in this look on a warm sunny day! What are you doing to stay positive this winter?

Xo,
