Hi

Welcome to my blog. I'm an island girl living in the cheese state. A thrift queen & a fashion junkie.

Because, Fashion.

Because, Fashion.

Hello lovely readers! As a fashion enthusiast, I cannot help wanting to buy pretty much everything I lay eyes on, and if you look at something long enough, you're bound to see beauty in it. At least that is my case, I start thinking of what I already have in my closet for possible outfits.  The shopaholic in me kicked in the last couple of weeks due to employee appreciation, but everything I bought is of great quality and I just could not pass on the great deals! Such as these beautiful gold frame cat-eye sunnies by Wildfox that were on sale at UrbanOutfitters.com and my discount on top of it made them very affordable! I had to have them because I had been searching for gold frames since last year! Did I mention Beyonce has these?  Another treat to myself were these beautifully crafted oxfords by Bed|Stu! Ever since learning of the brand I became obsessed. Bed|Stu is a perfect example of taking quality materials along with impeccable craftsmanship, resulting in something such as a pair of shoes that you can honestly take on a life long journey.  Just as there is a beautiful side to fashion it also has an ugly truth. Due to the increased demand of new clothing styles, sadly, roughly 11 million tons of clothing go towards landfill each year.  Americans now buy five times more clothing items than in the 1980's, which, in my opinion, is due to the lack of quality materials invested for such articles of clothing that barely last you a season.  We can all make a small difference starting with our local communities. I love being able to sell my unwanted clothing to the local resale shops for a little more cash in my pocket or trading it for something new! I encourage you to seek out places to do the same. Another option is to donate to Goodwill, or it can be as easy as taking a bag to a local donation bin, the possibilities are endless. As the saying goes, one man's trash is another man's treasure, and I like to think I gave a new life to this vintage dress and bag. Would you agree?
